r/b2b\_sales: an AI studio in Surat is cold calling factory owners, getting 2% meeting conversion, asking what would work better.

Surface Problem

How do I get more meetings from cold calls?

Deeper Question

We built a product and pointed it at a market that isn't responding.
Is the channel wrong,
the message wrong,
or the audience wrong?

Evidence

They're selling transformation (AI automation, dashboards, bots) to buyers who purchase on trust and relationships, not cold outreach.

Multiple commenters independently pointed to referrals, local trust, and in-person visits instead of calling tactics.
That convergence suggests the channel isn't the real constraint.

The bottleneck isn't the tool.
It's trust infrastructure.

My Working Theory

Technical founders underestimate that B2B sales in relationship-dense markets is a distribution problem, not a product problem.
Factory owners don't buy AI, they buy solutions to production delays, labor shortages, quality issues, and cost overruns.

Technology is the implementation.
Pain is the product.

Questions I'd Ask

How do your current customers actually discover you today?

Which specific problem gets the strongest reaction from factory owners?

Have you tested an in-person or referral-led motion?
Is this pain urgent enough to interrupt their day?
