Where should cyclists wait? (Stone Way N / N 45 St)
I was southbound on Stone Way N, coming from Green Lake. The bike lane ends 100 feet prior to the N 45th St intersection and becomes a right turn lane. There is a sign that says “RIGHT LANE MUST TURN EXCEPT BICYCLES”.
A motorist honked at me, I looked and there were a couple cars behind waiting to turn. I shrugged and didn’t move because it seemed I was in the correct spot. However, cars are allowed to turn right on red at this intersection.
This was a one-off scenario, but made me curious if there’s anything I should have done differently.
