Looking for some hope… (previous ‘Delayed Villous Maturation’)
Hello,
I am looking for some hope.
I am very early stage pregnancy (about 6 weeks) and had a meeting with our consultant this morning to review the placenta report for our full term baby who was born sleeping earlier this year, and make a plan for this pregnancy.
In the placenta report it was found that the placenta had “severe distal villous immaturity / delayed villous maturation”. The placenta also had an issue with the way the cord attached to it. Both of these issues combined resulted in losing our baby during labor.
I was told that there is a risk of DVM happening again, so I will be taking low dose aspirin and there will be tons of monitoring.
Has anyone gone on to have successful pregnancies after having an issue like this with their placenta?
How terrified do I need to be that this won’t work out again….
If you did have a successful pregnancy, how early did you deliver and was it vaginal / c section?
Thanks in advance for any replies, advice etc.
