Job over via email

Is a job offer via email legally binding? Not a signed formal official letter, just an email stating the salary and that I got the offer. The Recruiter told me they will send the contract upon my acceptance. Can I give my acceptance via email and then rescind it if I find anything I disagree with in the employment contract? Thanks!
