Too many "Engineers" with no degree or license

Whenever I google someone who is labeled engineer, it's common to see an unrelated degree or no license, but they work for a DOT or other entity that helped them get started.

One bridge engineer intern said they got in through their husband despite not going to college.

Scary that anyone can work in design, review plans, and make decisions that affect our lives without the proper credentials.
