The Techno-Organic Life of Otechni

Otechni is a world of Techno-Organic life. Life so interconnected that some bright individuals have discovered how to replace missing parts with others. Very difficult if it's a vital organ, but less so for a missing limb. Many folk walk around with an arm of vines or wood. Properly formed into an arm most fitting.

How is this done? By Druids and Flesh Sculptors. Their talents are said to be supernatural, as no Otechnian species understands what they are. Powers are credited to Supernatural Origins, not the ability to interact with the Primordial Code all life has deep within them. The words spoken for their Magic are the "Mystic" words of the Primordial Code being added to the world to cause an effect. Very similar to the Psychic abilities used by Flesh Sculptors when they mend bodies or alter them.

All life has only one Sex. No matter the form of reproduction, every member is capable of carrying a child and siring a child. This has been very helpful as Otechni is known to have violent storms, earthquakes and other natural disasters that can devastate the many island chains of it's surface.

The overall climate of the planet is warm. Many places have never seen a single flake of snow. Leading to most Sapient Species wearing clothes for protection from the sun, or appearances, while otherwise they wear nothing.

Currently the many Species are beginning to travel beyond their island homes, and the question arises: Will they meet Friend or Foe?

Quick Note: Otechnians don't have Gender like Humans do. It is seen as "The True Self" and all are encouraged to seek who they are. Within reason. Flesh Sculptors actually practice minor changes on those who want such things. Before moving on to more significant ones. Significant usually being an extra set of limbs, major alteration of limb function or adding brand new organs or physical features. Some Chain Groups have Sculpting Competitions for Wings, while others show off Sculpted Tattoos or bioluminescence.
