Fowl with a W

I saw another thread on here about how bad (and unbelievable) Tony's spelling mistakes were in his letter to Melfi.

I always interpreted "fowl with a w" to be Tony's attempt to be clever by making a reference to the ducks they've spent so much time talking about in therapy.

Did you interpret this scene the same way, or am I giving Ton too much credit?
