Replacing an old Tilly with a new one?
Have a 2008 TH5 that has been well loved. Id wear it still but I have accepted the fact that the hat has shrunk (unlikely) or more likely my head had grown (more likely) and the fit is too tight. Other than some sweat (or perhaps deet) staining and fading its still quite good.
My old one was 7 3/8 and i currently wear 7 5/8 in new era fitted ball caps (sometimes 7 1/2 but they have no consistency but 7 1/2 is usually a bit snug...)
Curious how newer TH5 (or maybe T5s if i go with canvas) fit if i were to order one. I know the new hemp hats are thinner fabric than older ones so i might go with Canvas because of that... Tilly doesnt list the brim sizes on the t5, are they the same as the old. i like the oval shape and the narrower width brims on the sides of my current hat but it seems they made the brim even smaller... though a larger sized hat might have a larger sized brim anyway as they change with size.
Wondering if i should order a 7 5/8 or even a 7 3/4... or go with a t3... its mostly hiking and camping here in Canada so i would like to stay with a Made in Canada version. Also sad they are no longer made with "persnicketiness"
