Question for Fire Island folks

Hey all - for the folks who’ve been to Fire Island:

I’m thinking of renting a house with my friends in Ocean Beach for a birthday weekend later in the summer, but is that really far from the Pines and the LGBTQ stuff? Is it hard to get to from Ocean Beach?
