help with obs and twitch??

hey yall, i’ve recently been wanting to get into streaming but i’ve run into a few issues.

i know a lot of these issues can be solved with “get a more powerful computer” but those are expensive and i can’t afford one.

basically what’s happening is, i got my OBS set up and outputting my webcam and gameplay, but when i actually hit “start stream” my twitch basically breaks and is either a black screen with just audio, or it’s a frozen screen with audio. I have a macbook air, i will have to check the exact specs later.

i’m wondering if there’s something external i can buy to take the load off my mac, or to help to situation at all?

TIA
