Cert. Phlebotomist & Med. Assist. Looking to transition into body piercer
Like the title says I'm a nationally certified Phelbotomist and Clinical Medical Assistant with 4 going on 5 years - and mortuary science background!
I'm not satisfied with the medical field. I never wanted to be in the medical field but bills had to be paid. I'm creative and really should be in a creative field. Body piercing seems to blend technical skill and creativity very well and seems like a natural fit.
I live in GA, not near Atlanta.
I'm looking into becoming a body piercer and wanted to get info from piercers about what to expect, entry (I'm reaching out to local shop to ask about part time apprenticeship), pay rate, booking clients, etc.
I'm friendly but have thick skin, like structure, detailed, steady hands, and used to high volume and difficult interactions.
From a quick Google search: 1200 hours and 50 supervised piercings performed, passing a written exam to become licensed, BBP knowledge (done), CPR certified (done), and negative for Hep B.
Whatever info you guys can give is helpful.
