"Device not configured for sonar" when headphones are off

So I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding the correct Sonar workflow or what.

I have an Arctis Nova 7 headset and desktop speakers. I want to use the speakers by default (headset is off), and swap to the headset whenever I turn it on. Sonar seems to handle this well with the output device priority list.

What I don't understand is WHY I open the app and it recommends enabling my headset when it knows it's turned off (specifically shows up as: `Device is connected but the headset is off`)? I just keep clicking "no and ignore for 30 days" or whatever the button says.
