Does it defeat the purpose of the Donut to put in a 2nd entrance?

I get how nice it is only protecting one entry, but as I expand around the helipad it becomes such a pain for men to have to walk around the whole thing just to get somewhere on the far end.

I guess what I'm asking is, will it come back to bite me late in the game? I have enough room for an armory at both ends which I figure will make it doable enough.
