How to tell my overbearing and toxic parents about my trip plans without facing the risk of cancellation?
Hi everyone,
I am planning to go on a solo trip to Pondicherry next month. I've nailed down what hotel I wanna stay in and the matter of transport and all that's left now, is actually booking things down, but before I do, I need advice on how do I break this to my parents and how do I ensure they cannot cancel it?
For context, I don't live with my parents, but I do live in their apartment that have here in the city. My parents are both working in two different cities. The moment I'll bring up the topic of going on a solo trip, they'll object to it, I'm damn sure of it.
I am thinking of purchasing the tickets and maybe I'll tell them a week prior or like 3-4 days before leaving on my trip. Send them a short mail with my flight details and bnb booking. I need to know what details I need to hide, before sending them the details though. They know my first and last name (obviously) and my primary phone number.
Like the number, email ID, and bank account I'll be using for the transactions are all in my name and only I have access to them. I'm just worried, if they get the customer service involved and get these things cancelled. I am a legal adult. I'm 22 years old.
Do I need to inform Kolkata police that I'm going on a short before leaving, in case they go on to file a missing person's report or something?
I'm planning to get my flight tickets via MMT for Indigo and stay via airbnb. Would appreciate y'all's suggestions on this matter?
