HELP WANTED! New name for Grass Type!

Discussion

Hello everyone! I’ve been wanting to design a Pokémon rom hack for a real long time, but I’ve never gotten past the planning/conceptualizing stage. One thing I wanted to do was tweak the Type Chart, and part of doing that involves renaming a few types.

Like for example, Steel Type changes into the Metal Type, and the Ghost Type changes into the Spirit Type.

The one I’m having trouble renaming is the Grass Type. I wanted to change it into a name that encompasses both plants and fungi into one term/type. While I know that they are two completely different forms or life, Pokémon tends to lumps them together. I still find it interesting that there’s no term to describe both generally. I mean, some still consider them to be effectively the same thing. I didn’t want to come up with an entirely new type for fungus Pokémon, as there are only like 10 ish fungus Pokémon, and I wouldn’t imagine that the type chart would be that different for Grass over Fungus.

Soo, what is a good new name for the Grass Type..? Plant would be perfect if not for the fungus friends. “Flora” or “Veggie” are the closest terms I can find to describing what I’m looking for, although those still technically only describe plants, not fungi. Flora used to encompass fungi, before fungi were fully recognized as their own form of life (they now use the term “Funga” to describe the fungi of an environment). And as far as culinary terminology, mushrooms are considered vegetables, as they provide similar nutritional value to use as actual vegetables.

I’ve looked all over and can’t seem to find a satisfactory term for what I’m looking for — any thoughts?
