Identifying Locomotives

Hello! I’m brand new to modeling railroads and am planning my first N scale layout for the transition era. I recently picked up a bunch of steam locomotives, freight and passenger cars, cabooses, and other miscellaneous accessories and structures at a yard sale. My question is, is there a way of identifying the make and model of the steam locomotives and which railroad they belong to? I appreciate the help and insight.
