Hope starts to go down more..
Hi, so I’m not fully diagnosed with POTS, I’ve been having symptoms for two years now, been to my first cardiologist last year it was child cardiologist since I was 17, she didn’t figure out what’s wrong with me, cause my heart echoscopy was good just prescribed metoprolol and let go with “we’ll see” for 6 months I was on Metoprolol, at first week my hr finally didn’t go up to 140 and I thought “finally it’s the end and I’ll feel normal again” well after that first week on Metoprolol my body decided that no, it’s not the end. So those last 5 months I was just on Metoprolol because it was prescribed to me, not helping me. It helped with resting hr, not standing up hr. Anyways week and a bit ago I went to new cardiologist as I’m 18 now, she immediately thought about Orthostatic Intolerance, but she thought about my bp, she said: well your bp is most likely goes low when you stand up so that causes your high hr. Oh well as much as I checked what my bp and hr was when I stand up, it always shows that my bp goes upper not lower as she said.. (I didn’t told her cause she was not in mood for my concerns anyways and didn’t believe me when i told her that my hr goes to 140 when I stand up, and when i’m climbing stairs my hr goes to up 190..)but anyways I was glad that this cardiologist even mentioned about Orthostatic Intolerance, as she might have any thought about POTS then, cause in my country there’s no even diagnosis code to write for POTS, it’s just simply non existing. And now as I’ve been prescribed Ivabradine 5mg evening dose, guess what - it helped, and suddenly today my hr goes up again 130 when I stand up…I’m really hoping it’s just a one day flare or something, cause I’m losing hope if I ever have normal hr or something…I’m getting holter monitor in a month for one day, the doctor said the Holter will show if I’m not lying and if my numbers those chaos numbers I said are true. But as I’m on ivabradine, if it will continue helping me, than she won’t see those numbers I said I had before Ivabradine, and she can prove just like that, that I lied. It’s never a win-win situation and I’m frustrated.
