**Introduction/context:**

**The hybrid armour doesn't feel satisfying as an endgame raids reward.**

With reference to the blog post \*\*The Fractured Archive - Rewards Primer (05 March 2026)\*\*, we can look at what Jagex were thinking about Melee armour upgrade. They were a bit unsure and thought it be a grey area" considering Oathlate's recent addition, however I'd argue it could be less "grey" than the hybrid armour, especially if designed to fit the correct space as I will discuss in "solution" segment below.

I've noticed many people asking for melee to get a powerspike, specifically targeting Scythe falling behind Tbow in DPS at ToB at Maiden with new ranged upgrades recently, and Shadow is already creeping Scythe P2 Verzik as well...

If Scythe gets a few str bonus points, it gets a solid powerspike securing it's position for years to come.

I think a str bonus armour that is more offensive DPS than Torva and Oathplate is warranted from Raids 4, but I think the best way to design it is to put it's defensive bonuses somewhere between Inquisitor and Bandos.

**Solution:**

A BIS offensive str bonus melee armour. It would be really cool for gear variety that it'd only have a chestplate and tassets (no helm) considering melee already has a vast variety of helms on offer (Faceguard, Serp, slayer helm etc.) so Oathplate and Torva helms remain relevant in the METAs going forward.

**Suggestion:**

**Guthixian Cuirass of the Fractured Archive:**

\+ 8 str bonus (+2 higher than Torva). Maybe some stab/slash/crush accuracies as well?

\+ 4 or 5 prayer bonus?

\+ Defensive stats somewhere between Inquisitor's and Bandos with a defence tier level req. 55 or 60.

Offensive tier 85 str level to equip. (Similar to how Ancestral is 65 def with 80 magic to wear, or Masori 30def and 80 ranged).

**TFA Guthixian Chausses of the Fractured Archive:**

\+ 6 str bonus (also +2 higher than Torva). Maybe some stab/slash/crush accuracies as well?

\+ 4 or 5 prayer bonus?
