Re-sale Lack of Transparency is INSANE

I've been waiting to sell some tickets for a year now. They've finally allowed me to resale/transfer less than a month before the event. When I went to upload them today for re-sale, I stepped away from the computer and when I came back, the options were not available anymore. Apparently, they close the option at noon, 4 days prior the event. Forget about "scalpers, etc..", they had a cap on the price already! They only would let me sell (basically) below face value, which is why I was hesitant at first. Now, there's no way to re-sale, unless someone is willing to buy them from me at the event the day of... I emailed them and they said that it's the organizer who does this, but why don't they let you know in advance regarding such a bizarre deadline?! Is it me or is this crazy?!
