Has anyone here discussed dendritic cell therapy as part of melanoma treatment?
I’ve been reading about different immunotherapy approaches for melanoma and came across dendritic cell vaccines.
From what I understand, they’re created using a patient’s own immune cells and are sometimes used alongside standard treatments rather than as a replacement for them.
What I find interesting is that opinions seem to vary quite a bit. Some sources describe them as a promising addition in selected cases, especially for recurrent or advanced melanoma, while others still view them as relatively niche.
For those who have dealt with melanoma personally, either as a patient or caregiver:
• Has dendritic cell therapy ever been brought up by your oncology team?
• Was it discussed as part of a clinical trial or routine treatment plan?
• Do you think personalized immunotherapy will play a larger role in melanoma care over the next few years?
Genuinely curious to hear real-world experiences and perspectives.
