One thing I’ve never shared is that my husband is a barber. ✂️
Not a software developer. Not a tech guy.
A barber.

When I started sewing, I absolutely fell in love with it. But if I’m being honest, there were also a lot of tears, frustration, and moments where I was convinced I had somehow broken my sewing machine forever. 😂
I was constantly asking questions.
Why is my thread doing this?
Why are my stitches doing that?
Why does everyone else seem to know what they’re doing except me?
I spent hours searching YouTube videos, Facebook groups, Reddit posts, and random websites trying to figure things out.
And my husband got to hear about every single problem and all the tears 😭.

What I didn’t realize was that while I was learning how to sew, he was quietly learning something too. He started teaching himself how to code.
Not because he wanted to change careers.
Not because he had some big business idea.
But because he hated watching me struggle with something I was trying so hard to learn.
So he built me something.
Just for me. A place where I could ask my sewing questions, troubleshoot problems, and get help when I got stuck. At first, it wasn’t meant for anyone else. It was just a husband trying to help his wife enjoy a hobby she was falling in love with. The more I used it, the more I kept thinking about all the beginners out there feeling exactly like I felt. Overwhelmed, Frustrated,
Convinced they were the only ones struggling.
I told him maybe other people could use it too.
What started as a barber trying to help his wife somehow became Sew Helpful.

And honestly, my favorite part of the story isn’t the app. It’s knowing that someone loved me enough to learn an entirely new skill just so I wouldn’t have to figure it all out alone. ❤️

My husband is a barber… so how did we end up here? ❤️
