Turkey 0% Income Tax on Remote Online Income?
Hi everyone,
I'm a German citizen who recently obtained a Turkish residence permit and plan to become a Turkish tax resident.
My situation:
- I operate multiple YouTube channels.
- Only income is AdSense revenue paid by Google Ireland.
- I don't create videos myself. I manage a remote team of scriptwriters, editors and content creators.
- None of my team members are located in Turkey.
- I currently use a Bulgarian company.
My main questions are:
- Would Turkish tax authorities consider YouTube AdSense income to be foreign-source income if Google Ireland is the payer and all production work is done outside Turkey?
- Would it be better to:
- receive AdSense directly to a Turkish personal bank account,
- keep using the Bulgarian company and pay myself dividends,
- or use a US LLC and receive distributions from there?
- Has anyone spoken with tax lawyers or accountants about how the "GIB" is interpreting digital businesses, YouTube channels, online marketing businesses, etc. under the new 20-year exemption?
Thanks!
