LUBA 3 AWD official Bluetooth Gaming Controller support
🎮 Official Bluetooth Controller Support (Feature Enhancement)
I recently discovered that the LUBA 3 already supports Bluetooth game controllers in Manual Control mode.
I tested it with my 8BitDo Ultimate 2C, and it worked immediately without any additional configuration. This was a great surprise!
However, there is one major limitation: input latency.
At low driving speed, manual control is comfortable and precise enough for mowing difficult areas. At higher speeds, the delay becomes significant, making precise maneuvering quite difficult.
Suggested Improvements
- Reduce controller input latency as much as possible.
- Add an optional "Low Latency / RC Mode" with minimal input filtering.
- Allow users to adjust joystick sensitivity and dead zones.
- Support button mapping (Start/Stop blades, Speed +/- , Return to Dock, etc.).
- Display a "Controller Connected" indicator inside the app.
Why this matters
Many users occasionally need to manually mow:
- narrow passages,
- areas with very tall grass,
- complex gardens,
- locations where AI obstacle avoidance is intentionally conservative.
Using a physical controller is dramatically more comfortable than steering on a touchscreen while walking.
The hardware and software support already seem to exist, so this feature appears to be very close to becoming an officially supported capability.
I think this could become one of the best quality-of-life improvements for power users
I had no idea this already worked, and I suspect many other LUBA owners don't know either. If Mammotion officially supports and improves Bluetooth controllers, manual mowing could become a genuinely enjoyable experience instead of something users try to avoid. 🚜🎮
