Files app not showing files anymore?

Using android, I was transferring some pictures to my computer to free up some space, I turned around and my toe got caught up on the usb-c cable that was transferring and disconnected. Now I can't see any files in the Files app.

When I connect to my computer I can still see the files but whenever I try to look at documents in the Files app or listen to music I get the spinning wheel but no files ever load/appear for me to actually open.

Do I have to uninstall files app and re-download , or would that remove all files?

Is there maybe another app I can download?
