Is this show worth coming back to?

questions

I suppose this question is geared less towards the absolutely converted and more towards people who are/have been on the fence with the show.

I watched Seasons 1 and 2 and bounced off it. I liked Season 1. I felt the show had a pretty good cast and decent atmosphere. There seemed to be a pretty palpable sense of danger to it all.

Season 2 basically burned my goodwill. The story felt doddering and repetitive. I don't need every piece of lore answered. I felt that whatever intrigue I felt in season 1 was just not there anymore. I felt like I was watching a show helmed by a team/showrunner that simply did not inspire confidence in me that this was a project guided by sure hands.

For comparison, this show is often compared to Lost, another show that people belly ached about over its lack of "answers". The primary difference for me is that I found the character stories in Lost to be engaging/fun on an episode-to-episode level. Yes, some of the centrics became repetitive and weak(ie - The Claire and Kate stuff towards the middle of Season 2). But the show was much more engaging episode-to-episode, scene-to-scene for me, even if little was being done to advance the grander lore.

So, for anyone who kind of empathizes with these notes, has the show done anything to warrant picking it back up? Again, I bailed after Season 2, so I've missed all of Season 3 and whatever has aired from Season 4. Most of the vague chatter I've caught on about the show has been pretty mum. I'm not sure if that's because no one cares about this show anymore or because it's, once again, hinging alot of its payoff on a finale being good.
