Relationships don’t fail because people argue. They don’t fail because two people are completely incompatible. Most relationships die long before that.
They die because people have forgotten how to stay.
The moment things become difficult, people start looking for exits instead of solutions. The moment their partner becomes a responsibility instead of a source of comfort, they begin questioning whether it’s worth it anymore.
Everyone says they want real love, but real love is inconvenient. Real love arrives with flaws, misunderstandings, bad days, emotional baggage, fears, insecurities, and moments where neither person knows what they’re doing.
Today’s generation wants permanent feelings with temporary effort.
The truth is, nobody meets you as a finished product. Every person you love will come with wounds. Every relationship will require patience. Every connection will eventually reach a phase where butterflies disappear and choice takes over.
But people don’t want to choose anymore.
They think, (I already have enough problems in my life. Why should I deal with someone else’s too?)
What they don’t realize is that love was never about finding someone without problems. It was about finding someone whose problems you don’t mind facing beside your own.
Instead of asking, How do we fix this? people ask, Can I find someone easier?
Instead of growing together, they replace each other.
Instead of communicating, they withdraw.
Instead of fighting for the relationship, they fight to protect their own comfort.
And then years later they wonder why every connection feels temporary.
The saddest part is that most relationships don’t end because love disappeared. They end because courage disappeared.
The courage to be patient.
The courage to understand.
The courage to stay during confusion.
The courage to choose the same person even when things aren’t perfect.
Because loving someone when everything is easy isn’t rare.
Staying when life gets heavy, when both of you are struggling, when neither of you has all the answers that is what makes love real.
In a world full of people searching for better options, the rarest thing isn’t love anymore.
It’s commitment.
