Kliff can no longer catch extra-large fish like the Striped Marlin using a fish trap in Version 1.12.01.

Pearl Abyss explicitly nerfed this method in the recent update.

The Fish Trap Nerf Details

• The Trap Restriction: The developers patched the item mechanics specifically to prevent extra-large fish from spawning inside or being pulled from throwable fish traps. Traps are now limited strictly to small and medium fish variants.
• Spawn Zone Changes: Alongside the trap nerf, the update added "No Fishing Zones" to previous high-yield Striped Marlin hunting grounds, such as the waters directly surrounding Delesyia Port and Marni’s Oil Rig. Trying to place traps or cast a rod in these specific coordinates will now trigger an out-of-bounds error.
