Some effects commands not working

Two problems im grappling with right now:

One:

I’ve noticed that some effects does work others. The example that I’ve been running into a lot lately is trying to manipulate the LFO cutoff manually.

So with the retrigger effect, you can apply it on the note line and then apply a different retrigger value after. I’m trying to do that with the cut off values but it the m8 doesn’t read the later values.

The work around for this is to add the repeating pervious value effect but for times I’m trying to be really accurate with my inputs, I’d rather type in each value. Is this possible, am I doing something wrong?

Two:

Automating values with shift and enter.

If you have two values at the top and bottom of effects commands and hit shift then enter, the m8 with mathematically fill in all the values between linearly. I love love love this feature.

Some effects does - panning for example - the values for some reason ping pong between positive and negative values, I think? It just doesn’t work the way I think it should. Any work around or am I doing something wrong?

There’s obvious work arounds for these. I’m blown away by how truly complex the m8 for how limiting it seems initially. I have such a better understanding of music production after using it, even after playing with ableton and renoise for a decade.
