Razors work better when they're dull
Whenever I shave with a sharp razor, I always end up with a few cuts. No matter how gentle I go; I always use adequate shaving cream and apply minimal pressure and still get cut. On top of that the sharp razor doesn't even do its job. Despite getting cut, I can never get rid of the stubble in some areas, like my chin. The only way I could possibly get rid of it using a sharp razor would be to apply more pressure, but that would cause even more cuts.
With a dull razor, I can actually apply a decent amount of pressure and not get cut. I can also get rid of the really stubborn parts of my face and make it really smooth, because I don't have to be as gentle. If my facial hair isn't too intense, I'll use an electric razor for the general area and then a dull manual razor for specific spots that still feel rough. Works perfect. I do the opposite if my beard and mustache have grown out a ton. Also works great. I rarely get any cuts doing it this way. But sharp razors can never get the job done right; they always manage to make my face look like a warzone, while also leaving behind small splotches of stubble.
