The Grand Canyon and its permanence
I’ve spent so long on trying to forget
Every single detail about you.
I’m paranoid and filled with deep regret
Since I found that picture of you two:
Someone that I loved so very much
Next to one I can’t bear to evoke;
Standing at the Grand Canyon above
I wish that goddamn ledge had up and broke.
I can’t bear to have parts of your blood
Running through my veins when I’m with him.
I wish I could forget your evil touch
Every time the guilt comes rushing in.
I wish my body never kept the score
Tally on my brain it counts to five:
I wish I didn’t feel it anymore
It stays with me as long as I’m alive.
