Every veteran has heard the lines. "Sellers won't touch a VA offer." "VA appraisals tank deals." "You only get to use it once." Most of it is garbage, and once again we have the receipts.

Vetted VA partnered with Polygon Research and went through 138 million loan-level transactions to put the seven biggest VA loan myths up against actual data. Not opinions. Not seminar slides. The numbers.

**A few that stood out:**

* VA loans have the LOWEST denial rate of any loan type. 8.2 percent. Conventional is sitting at 15 percent.
* VA loans get originated at a **90 percent clip**, compared to 81 percent for conventional. Best odds of actually making it to closing.
* **Lowest average interest rate of the group at 6.102 percent**, and about $1,381 less in origination charges than a conventional loan.
* **Veterans who own with a VA loan have 18x the net worth of veterans who rent. So much for "weak financials."**
* No PMI. Ever.
* Sellers can cover up to 4 percent in concessions, and the VA loan is the only one that hands you two chances to fight a low appraisal (Tidewater and a Reconsideration of Value).
* And no, it is not one and done. **You can use this benefit again and again.**
