Just learned that longterm cannabis use may impact bone health, curious if anyone has encountered this themselves.

I recently discovered some peer reviewed research studies showing that heavy cannabis use Is associated with low bone mineral density and an Increased risk of fractures.

I was researching this subject since I recently got diagnosed with Osteopenia very young. I'm a 31 year old healthy male with no pre existing conditions that would explain my low bone density, but I was addicted to cannabis for 13+ years from ages 15-28 (cannabis free for 2.5 years and counting), so I'm wondering if my history with cannabis could be tied to this type of condition.

Has anyone else in this community been diagnosed young for bone density issues? I'm hoping I'm not alone and wondering if there's any sort of test I can take to determine if this was the root cause.
