Asking what caused the universe is the wrong question.

Agnostic?

This is what I think about it all. The whole idea of god is meant to fill a hole in our knowledge about the beginning of the world. But it doesn't. People tend to think that the universe had to start because of something, the idea of cause and effect. Cause and effect only exist because time exists, only when time exists things can change states and have cause and effect. Physics suggest that time only exists when matter exists. (and I am simplifying this because its way more complex than that) That they are linked and don't really work well together when separated. there was no "time" no "space" no "is" "up" "down" "red" "blue" none of that.
There wasn't even an endless void that people like to imagine because that would mean space existed, but it didn't, it couldn't have. The idea of god is meant to fill the void of how the universe began, but it didn't begin. It simply suddenly was and even that is not the right way to describe what happened. A better way to say it is it exists without having come from anything. The idea of god is meant to fill a void that never even existed, and if you add god its meant to fix things up in your head. But it cant. The universe simply exists you cant ask the question why or what caused it as there is no such thing as a cause when time doesn't exist. The universe is way more complicated and more mindboggling than humans think and our brains simply are not built for understanding it easily. We are built to understand the 4th dimension which is time, but there was no "before" the universe. I love how weird it all is and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I am not saying that belief or religion is bad at all. I myself believe/have faith in stuff too.
