Clark coming to the conclusion that he was still in love with Lana in labyrinth pissed me tf off

Obviously, he still has strong feelings for Lana, but look at the facts of this episode.
A phantom tries to trap him in his own head. I forgot the motives of the phantom, but at the end it looked like he wanted to lobotomize Clark in some way.
We also know that he lost his abilities.
Now let’s look at the other facts:
He literally cannot believe that Martha would ever betray him with Lionel, so he immediately jumps to the conclusion that she’s being manipulated by the Luthors.
With Chloe, he instantly trusts her, and then she dies.
Lois is not in this episode.
His dad is obviously still dead.
Lex is still the biggest villain ever.
And he immediately accuses Lana of being in on this whole thing and betraying him with Lex, showing a severe lack of trust from his side.
The whole episode, he stays consistent with the idea that this is all a bad dream he needs to get out of, and that he isn’t crazy like everyone is telling him.
But Lana—this fake Lana at least—sounds convincing enough to actually make him consider the lobotomy thing.
And if it wasn’t for Shelby barking and the fake Lana fading away, he wouldn’t have snapped out of it.
Meaning he would literally be God knows where had the phantom succeeded .

Then you have the end of the episode.
He realizes that he almost gave up everyone he loves, including his abilities to actually help people, which is obviously important since he is literally Superman and the world needs him.
He was gonna give up all of that for a dream life with Lana …….. with someone who wasn’t even really Lana ?? 🥲.
And you know what he says to Chloe ?
“I’m obviously still in love with Lana.”
Like… do not piss me off, Clark. That’s what you get from all of this? That you’re still in love with her instead of realizing you were almost completely consumed?
It’s actually crazy.
Lana has moved on. Obviously she still has feelings for Clark, but her feelings for Lex were very much real in the beginning , although their relationship gives me the creeps and feels very grey and eerie.
She has, in a way, moved on.
He has not.
And the way he expresses it this season is just so not attractive. He totally regressed this season.( imo)
