Watching the entire series, finale.

animated films

In SST Lieutenants are all experienced soldiers, so he really shouldn't be acting this way.

I feel like it would make more sense to just run another sim immediately.

The chances of a 26 year old getting that rank is pretty slim.

I like how both the animated movies put so much emphasis on the butt armor.

They still haven't developed countermeasures against the alien plasma. It should be pretty easy to intercept the shots.

Either they built a new ship and gave Carmen command or they rebuilt a crashed ship.

The design of these ships is apparently really poor for actual combat.

More "fascism" that closely resembles something else...

It's interesting how the position of "Sky Marshal" has such an unclear position. Are they the leader of the military, or the civilian leader?

That's a blast from the past. Not surprised who it really was.

I do like the armor, though I think they should be moving forward, not backwards. The power armor from the end of Invasion should be the norm.

I like how the bugs give Rico and the team time to chat when a moment ago they were being swarmed.

Rico says it's Geo's call, then a minute later he makes the call.

I don't find the "weather bomb" idea terribly compelling.

I think this probably has the second best storyline after the first movie. The emphasis on polls is odd though, since in reality most leaders don't poll very well anyway. The Sky Marshal's plan doesn't really make that much sense. Overall I think this is probably the second best movie after the first one. I'm not a HUGE fan of the plot, but it's a lot better than 2 or 3, and somewhat better than 4. The Japanese influence shows through in 4 and 5 and while I like Japanese style in other settings I feel like it's not quite right for Starship Troopers.

Revised ratings:

SST: 9.5/10

Hero of the Federation: 6/10

Marauder: 3/10 (It's just really bad.)

Invasion: 7 (The storyline is really not that great and I feel like there's a fair bit of dead time that could have been edited.)

Traitor of Mars: 7.5/10 (I think it's pretty good, but with a lot of inconsistency and a somewhat silly premise.)
