Uni transfer

Currently a bar associate and have been for the past few months and am moving to Liverpool for university in September, wondering about how the transferring works and when i should speak to my manager about it as I would love to keep working at spoons once I leave home. I will not be coming back during holiday time and will be staying in my accommodation all year round, will this affect anything ?
