I need outside perspective
So, today i got called misogynistic for saying that i dont believe trans women should be speaking on trans men's experience.
I dont believe either side should be speaking on eithers experience really, because they are so fundementally different in damn near every respect of the transition experience. Or if they are going to speak on the others experience, they need to be properly educated in whats actually happening instead of allowing themself to be biased, going for everyone.
But this originated from a video of 2 trans femme/women and one trans masc/man on a podcast. The clip was of the two trans women speaking, and the trans man didnt speak at all.
But one had the opinion that trans men have an easier time transitioning and passing than trans women, which i disagree with, i dont think either side have a 'harder time'. I think one is more heavily scrutinized, and the other is completely dismissed as being trans in general. One has easier access to medical transition, the other doesnt, one is hypervisible, the other is hyperinvisible and not even put into statistic correctly.
I feel like its not fair to say that, and i also feel like some trans people refuse to look at their privileges in what theyre saying towards eachother due to their biases of percieved easiness in stuff, when in reality is just the struggles are hyperinvisible because trans men arent seen as men \*at all\*.
And when trans men \*are\* talked about, it is almost always trans women speaking on our behalf, and i find that frustrating that we are almost always spoken for or over, because we are still regularly seen as \*just women\*.
And so i commented this, something along the lines of "while i understand where youre coming from, i find it frustrating that once again is not trans men speaking on trans men problems" or something like rhat, and i had people telling me i was beinf mysogonistic and not realizing it, and even had several trans women saying they wished they were hyperinvisible instead of hypervisible and how I as a trans man wouldnt possibly understand what theyre going through.
Which i agree, i dont understand what its like to be hypervisible. But they also dont understand what its like to be hyperinvisible either..
But i need to know if my take is mysogonistic, i need to know if my thinking is flawed at all because to me it makes perfect sense for neither side to talk on either experience because neither side will fundementally understand the other, and will absolutely have biases over the others percieved experiences, or to at minimum be far more educated in what is getting said than just a mere assumption of what they might think the others experience is like..
(I tried to reword this the best i could from an older post that got taken down bc i posted it in the wrong sub by mistake. Please let me know if i am saying things in a way that comes off wrong, i am trying to be as respectful as possible while also trying to learn and explain my view on the situation)
