How can I befome friends with someone without looking like i want them romantically?

For context i am a girl and i have a friend who went for an exchange year in the us and from the people that went feom our country is this guy. I followed him idk how but i start watching his stories one by one and i got this massive friend crush ever like yk when u see someone and their vibes and you be like i wnat to be your friend so bad it's like that

We only talked three times and it's not a conversation the first time he replied tp my story congratulating me on winning a competition. And i replied to his story when her returned home and i told him welcome home and he responded with a voice message tellinf me thankuu. And now he posted that he was gonna do a storytime about his exchange year but still didn't find a good time and i answered can't wait😭😂 and he reponded with laughing emojis​​

But i felt this way won't work cause it seems i'm so desperate and i want him romantically which i don't I SWEAR i want to be his friend so muchh

And i can't tell my friend cause we're not that close and also the three of us are from different places

And now i wnat a way to like become friends with him without sounding like i want him romantically
