Anyone else think abstracting could be some sort of metaphor for suicide?

Okay, so I'm watching the last episode, I just watched where caine appears for the first time. As I was watching the episode I was thinking about how the characters acted before death, almost the same way someone struggling would act. I know the circus has a lot to do with that and maybe I'm reaching but I was just thinking of and decided to ask if anyone else had similar ideas.
