Why it's so challenging to get a boyfriend

Why it is so hard to get a boyfriend, I know and fully aware that I live in a very homophobic country and I haven't come out yet. But why it's so hard to have a relationship in my life. Like I have met a gay person in my city and he has a boyfriend. Like how the hell he managed to met and be a boyfriends with that guy, not like I hate them, it's just why It's never happen to me. What I get instead is having a huge crush on a straight guy that I'm fully aware couldn't end up with me.
