"Lost Highway (and the road to Carnegie Hall)" - this film is about human flourishing!
(a thesis about the David Lynch movie).
Rather than post the link alone, i'll give you a summary - Lost Highway uses the rubric of "psychogenic fugue" (with reference to the OJ Simpson double-murder) to depict a film about finding the route to human flourishing. That route makes use of a McGuffin: the saxophone - which functions not as an inert vehicle designed simply to advance the plot.
Instead it is something like a McGuffin but more! It's the tangible object that represents "doing what you love & loving what you do", but to progress Fred Madison has to put self-love behind him, given figurative form as female doppelgangers.
The slides are filler to a monologue (the voice is my own but synth'd)
