How did you decide when none of the options felt right?

I'm going around in circles and would love your thoughts. I had a single masectomy with expander, followed by an infection and then removal of the expander. Now I'm flat on one side. I'd like some kind of reconstruction, but my body does not like foreign bodies, and my skin is thin, so implants are out. An LD flap isn't good for my back and leaves me with breast tissue on one side. DIEP feels like an enormous thing to put my body (and mind) through after active treatment. I want to take my time, but ideally, I get my recon done this year while I have some leeway at work. I normally have good intuition about what's right for me, but I'm lost on this one. Did you struggle with this? How did you decide?
