Walmart
In honor of Kohen Wiley, can we band together for a short term goal of pushing for the nationalization or state-take over of Walmart?
When a corporation gets to the level of sophistication, wealth, power, and control where it can afford its own private police force and still makes considerably more use of the public’s police than any private citizen, I think it makes sense to treat that enterprise property as a public, collective concern, especially considering how much of the public’s tax dollars go to staffing the protection of their profit against the needs of the most vulnerable.
Perhaps we could hold Walmart accountable for the making accessible of food and diapers and winter coats. I’m a criminal defense attorney and I’m sickened by the constant prosecution for the mere dollars worth fucking life and health necessities I see taken every day by people whose other choice is sickness, starvation, and maybe death. Or maybe not even nationalization or state-take over. Maybe they just have to pay a fucking living wage.
Idk. Just throwing shit at the wall in my fury. Open to hearing other ideas. Maybe we can force all Walmart larcenies to be treated as civil infractions?
I thought I was passed being shocked by the dehumanization we’re capable of. But alas. We can always care less.
