Kentish Town or Canonbury? Moving to London (27F)
Hi everyone!
I’m moving from The Netherlands to London for a new job in August and I have two potential housing options. My office will be at Finchley Road.
Option 1:
13 minutes walk from Canonbury overground, takes about 35 mins in total to work or 37 minute cycle.
1 housemate, house is being renovated so great state, pretty spacious room (13.5m2), shared kitchen/living/bathroom. Top floor. Not sure about bike parking
Roughly 1200 including bills
Option 2:
10 minutes walk from Kentish Town West, takes about 12 minutes cycle to work, 40 minutes walk or 20 minutes with overground.
1 housemate, house a bit older, smaller room (around 10m2) and shared kitchen+living and bathroom. Also top floor. No space to park a bike I guess?
Roughly 1050 including bills
I’m inclined to the second just because of the proximity to work and need to be in office every day, as well as the pricing, but would love some opinions on the neighbourhoods, commute and overall vibes. Heard Camden can be a bit rough? House number 1 is a bit more spacious but location is important to me as well.
Day to day I go to the gym 4x a week (I’m willing to commute for a nicer gym as well as I do powerlifting - saw some good options all the way at London Bridge - recommendations appreciated!) and I would love to be out exploring the city on the weekends.
Would love to hear experiences and opinions :) thanks!!
