Is it bad that my parents, who are both teachers, now use AI for many of their tasks?

One of them is an elementary school teacher and the other is a language/literature teacher at a local high school. They use Claude or ChatGPT a lot, especially for generating PPTs, AI images and posters, exercises for the pupils, you name it. I've heard about the many negative aspects of that but I'm not really intelligent to argue here, they say it's amazing for how it saves them time.

But then even if they disregard the ethical or other aspects, isn't it in some way hypocritical for them to use AI a lot but complain about the students using AI to write them full essays and so on? Or maybe I'm behind the times a bit and this is just the new standard now?
