Question about the whole legacy-enhanced options for gta (no question tag, hope discussion is sufficient)

Ive been trying enhanced when it was out and noticed that i can't even run it on high settings, but a little late considering i already transferred my character. What happened to my legacy character? Is he still there or do i have to start over or something? Not exactly planning to play on enhanced with the hardware issues
