512GB (Without Controller) $1,049 ≈ ₹90,200

512GB + Controller Bundle $1,128 ≈ ₹97,000

2TB (Without Controller) $1,349 ≈ ₹1,16,000

2TB + Controller Bundle $1,428 ≈ ₹1,22,800

Now let's be realistic. Since Valve doesn't officially sell it in India, third-party imports, duties, shipping, and reseller margins could easily add around 30% on top.

That would put the pricing roughly at:

512GB (Without Controller) ₹1,17,300

512GB + Controller Bundle ₹1,26,100

2TB (Without Controller) ₹1,50,800

2TB + Controller Bundle ₹1,59,600

For comparison, current console pricing sits around:

PS5 (1TB) $649.99 ≈ ₹55,900

PS5 Pro (2TB) $899.99 ≈ ₹77,400

Xbox Series S (512GB) $399.99 ≈ ₹34,400

Xbox Series X (2TB) $799.99 ≈ ₹68,800

Of course, actual retail pricing can be higher depending on availability, import costs, and stock shortages. The ongoing memory and component supply situation isn't helping either.

I don't see the Steam Machine competing directly with the PS5 or Xbox. It's a different ecosystem altogether with its own OS, its own strengths, and access to the massive Steam library. The experience is much closer to a PC than a traditional console.

The comparison that really matters is against a Windows gaming PC in the $1,100–$1,300 range (roughly ₹1.2 lakh). That's where we'll find out whether the Steam Machine offers genuine value or if you're better off building or buying a gaming PC instead.

For now, the pricing looks ambitious. The real story will be told by the reviews, performance benchmarks, and day-to-day user experience once it actually lands in people's hands.

Steam Machine pricing looks something like this
