How did you come to terms with it?
For context- I went downhill really fast starting Dec 2025. After some amazing dr's I was dignoised with MS and had to get all my shots up to date before I could start meds (thanks hippy mother). I was dignoised in March and started my shots just last month (again due to vaccines) and since my first Dr's appointment in December my body has just crashed and burned.
The nurologiests are great, but even since my last check in with them a month ago MORE bad things have come up and they won't leave. I can't see them again till next month unless one symptom gets more presistant.
I think what kills me the most that I've just been told if something new happens and dosn't go away by itself in a few days its most likely there to stay. Once my symptoms appear they have not gone away and its been months. I'm exhausted. I also feel like a constantly shaking chihuahua on the inside and out and i hate it.
More than anything i'm ANGRY. I used to fly PLANES for a living, I was a fire bomber for my country. I saved lives, farms, homes, forrests, bushland. I had dreamed of it since a KID. I pushed myself through every thing in life to get where I was and I was fucking good. In March I was told to let my job go as I couldn't pass a medical exam to fly. I feel like I'm dying. I'm 29.
So how do you cope? I've lost my income since March, lucky I'm morgage free and my wife is beautiful and amazing. We have goverment support (thanks Australia) that helps pay to keep food on the table so I'm not worried about the money side for now. But cope with just... its gone?
I always knew the risks of my job, but it was going to be fast if it was from my job. This, this is watching my body decay, I'm sorry to be a downer about it but I just feel lost. How did you all cope once you got dignoised? I feel like a shell. I lost my life purpose. I'm scared about having kids that my wife and I were about to start trying for this year. I wanted to travel more. do things. Now I can't open a milk jug without a tool.
I'd love to know. I also wish therpy was affordable so I didn't have to rant on reddit. Thanks everyone in advance. Knowing there is others already helps.
I know I WILL come to terms with it- i'm just in the "I want to smash shit and scream" phase, but I'm to tired to even throw a pillow
