My YouTube channel was stuck at 39 subs for 5 years. Two weeks after I started using the app I built, it's at 51.

I'm an actor, not a developer by trade; although in a previous life I managed large development projects for the government. I ran a small YouTube channel on the side for about five years and it basically never grew. Some of that was me. But a big part was that the work after recording was miserable: transcribe the video, write a title that might actually get found, write the description, make a thumbnail, cut a few Shorts, caption them, schedule the upload. It was so miserable that, frankly, I just skipped doing all of it altogether. I'm lucky I had ANY subs.

So I dug into what makes a channel grow. Turns out it was all the things I WASN'T doing.

So I built YouPush to do all of it. It's a desktop app. You drop in a finished video and it runs the whole post-production pass: transcript, an SEO title and description in your voice, a thumbnail, captioned Shorts pulled from the long video, and a scheduled upload. It runs locally. You bring your own OpenAI and Anthropic keys, so it's a few cents a video instead of a monthly bill, and you buy it once.

Even though I love the tool and it has made my life much better, I don't want to oversell it. I've only used it on old videos so far, just re-cutting and re-optimizing stuff that was already up. My channel went from 39 subscribers to 51 in about two weeks. That might be noise. But it's the first movement I've seen in years, so I'm paying attention. July is the real test: it'll be the first month I use it on fresh content from the start, and I'll know a lot more then.

A few facts:

- Brand new. Handful of users, no reviews yet.

- Mac and Windows.

- Free tier (full tool, watermarked output, capped number of videos/shorts) so you can run a real video through it before paying.

- One-time price is $79.

What I'd actually like feedback on:

- Does "buy once, bring your own API keys" sound better than another subscription, or does the bring-your-own-key part put you off?

- If you make video, what's the post-production step you'd most want to never touch again?

It's at getyoupush.com if you want to poke holes in it. Genuinely fine with people telling me it's a bad idea.
