Is 1000 gems for 8 scrolls and 350 gems for a prophet orb worth it?

It's pretty hard to save up enough scrolls/prophet orbs for events. As there's a big event 2-3 times a year and each time takes 2000 scrolls or 320 prophet orbs to finish. So is it worth buying them from the market everyday for gems? If not how else should i get them?
